Now, it's time to finish the state.
In the final installment of a three-part series, hblandaofu.com has deemed the No. 1 pro athlete to come out of every Central and Eastern Washington high school. This project covers the 20 counties in the eastern half of Washington state, including Okanogan, Chelan, Kittitas, Yakima, Klickitat, Douglas, Grant, Benton, Lincoln, Adams, Franklin, Walla Walla, Columbia, Asotin, Garfield, Whitman, Spokane, Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties.
The same rules as the previous two installments apply. A refresher: To be eligible, the athletes from the featured schools had to finish their pro careers in 1960 or later - athletes of schools that no longer exist were excluded. The sports-reference.com databases and Wikipedia were the main resources used to track names.
The top athlete from each school was determined by success on a number of metrics, including level of play reached, length of career and championships won, among others. Remember, our selection of a No. 1 athlete is subjective. And some schools have an "honorable mention" line, too.
