Can I go to the beach? Here's what's allowed right now in Seattle

After a long few months of staying inside to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus across Washington, summer is finally here.

But even as the state slowly begins to reopen, summer in Seattle this year will look a bit different from past years. People may have to hold off on the big parties and bonfires for the time being. And some water parks and trails are still closed - and may remain closed for the season.

But with temperatures climbing into the 70s and 80s, the sun setting past 9 p.m. and King County finally advancing to Phase 2, there are still lots of chances to get outdoors and enjoy the weather - as long as social distancing and other safety precautions are taken.

In Phase 2, people should continue to stay six feet apart, gather in groups of five or fewer, wear masks and wash their hands frequently.
